Cosmetic Review

PS: this post was edited quite significantly from Bahasa to (not-very-satisfying) English, I hope you bear with my English and still enjoy reading this. Check the english version out below!

I dunno, this idea just come up on my mind. Tidak beniat buat centil-centilan apalagi show off yaaa… Mumpung belum kerja, ya up grade make up skill dulu deh, hihihihi… Ceritain gak yaaaaa ;p
So, here’s the list come to you

Singkatnya, enaklah! Sayang, sudah tidak produksi lagi.

Pelembab muka: uhm, actually I’m not so into this things. Entah kenapa, gak begitu suka pakai pelembab, tapi tetep pakai (aneh memang). Pelembab siang dan malam keduanya merek Oriflame. Tapi beda jenis. Yang siang itu Optimals Even Out Day Cream, sementara yang malam saya pakai Aqua Rhythm Night Cream. Pelembab siang mengingatkan saya sama krim wajahnya Nivea. Mirip.

But I love both! Saya sering hanya pakai foundation saja tanpa pakai bedak kalau sedang ingin nude make up. Dan kalau hanya pakai foundation saja, kalau sorenya saya membersihkan wajah, engga ada bekas foundationnya. Lalu sehabis pakai foundationnya itu, warnanya menyerap sama kulit.

Memang awal setelah pakai warnanya seperti “topeng”. But as the time clicking, warnanya menyatu sama warna kulit and lefts you smooth skin. Kalo katanya Mbak SPG sih, itu foundation padat, bukan bedak all in one. Whatever it is, saya pake ini juga lho. Kedengarannya mungkin aneh: pakai foundation cair, trus pakai bedak foundation (atau foundation padat) itu, trus baru bedak padat. Tapi buat saya malah biasa aja. Ga menor dan ga terlalu nude. Soalnya saya mengaplikasikan semuanya tipis-tipis.

Enak sih, ringan. Nah sekarang saya pakai Inez. Overall, Inez bagus kok. Tapi lebih “berat” dari pada Maybelline. Mungkin kapan-kapan coba The Body Shop punya.

Mascara: Maybeline yang waterproof. Yang pasti beneran waterproof (engga mbleber), kadang menggumpal sih tapi engga parah gumpalannya, dan ringan. Waktu ambil wudhu, mascara engga luntur sama sekali. Strong enough lah! Saking strong-nya kalo mau bersihin muka, harus ikut dibersihin juga bulu matanya biar bersih sisa-sisa mascaranya.
Eyeshadow: pakai Oriflame. Tapi jarang pakai. Buat saya pribadi, engga signifikan aja eyeshadow buat make up, hehehehe… pilihan ini mungkin karena saya pakai kacamata, rasanya mata jadi “rame” banget kalo pake eye shadow segala. Jadi meski go to a special occasion, saya hampir engga pernah pakai eye shadow.
Eye liner: punya yang cair merek Revlon. FYI, I never use it from the first time I bought it. Alasannya: gak bisa pakainya. (Silakan jitak saya.) Bagus sih. Tapi ya itu tadi, both pencil or liquid eyeliner, I can’t use it (for God’s sake). Dan meski koleksinya nambah (Kajal dan Wonder Liner by Oriflame), saya teuteup ga fasih make eye liner.

Eyebrow: punya yang pensil dari (guess what?) Viva! Idaman semua perempuan—bahkan sosialita Jakarta—haha!
Blush on: punya dua: bronzing pearls-nya Oriflame sama Inez.

Lips: uhm, lipstick sih punya beberapa. Ada Revlon dan Oriflame. Tapi yang suka saya pakai yang Revlon. Warnanya it’s so-into-me banget! Ha-ha! Beberapa lipstick Oriflame malah hampir gak pernah dipakai. Saya suka pakai cara ini karena warna lipsticknya blended perfectly that way.

Lotion: dari dulu suka ganti-ganti lotion. Mulai dari Nivea, Citra, sampe Vaseline. Sekarang ini lagi konsisten sama Vaseline meski ganti-ganti varian. Yang pernah saya coba itu yang Aloe Vera (baunya gak suka), With SPF (biasa aja), Total Moisture (wanginya enak, love this!), dan sepertinya akan terus pakai yang Total Moisture inih.

Scrubs: uh, I looooveeee scrubbing!! Ritual ini sudah saya lakukan sejak kuliah. Tiap weekend pasti body scrub. Habis punya anak, teuteup scrubbing. Dulu itu udah jatuh cinta sama scrubnya Lux yang Lavender with Ginger Oil. Enaaaakkk bangeeettt… Wangi Lavendernya nempel di baju sampe besoknya. Scrubnya tergolong lebih kasar (compare with Sari Ayu or Vitalis) dan ginger oil-nya makes the ritual fells spa alike. You feel warmth and energizing at the same time. Sayang, (lagi-lagi) produk itu entah ke mana. Sekarang saya pakai scrub Wild Cherry dari The Body Shop.

But overall, it’s nice to have a clean body with fresh scent of cherry *sniff sniff*. Maybe gonna try Swedish Spa Body Srcub-nya Oriflame (nunggu diskon, hehehe). Sepertinya enak. Soalnya saya sudah coba facial scrubnya Swedish Spa. Enak deh. Bikin wajah bersih tanpa bikin kulit kasar dan kering. Must try! Uhm, yang belum ketemu itu lip scrub. So far, bisa scrub sendiri pakai madu dan butiran gula pasir. Atau kombinasi lain, seperti yoghurt dan gula. It’s up to you. Sementara untuk foot treatment, saya suka foot scrubnya Oriflame. Juga rangkaian foot treatment yang lain, seperti foot bath, foot cream, foot mask sampai pumice brush-nya.

Shampoo and friends
Sempet coba banyak merek. You named it: Clear, Head & Shoulders, Pantene. Lalu Sunsilk. Lama banget lho, pake Sunsilk tuh. Makanya rambutku selalu kuangkat pakai jepit besar. Nah, pakai sampo Dove ini enaaaakk banget. Langsung ku beli deh! Variannya juga banyak loohh…

Eniwei baswei, postingannya jadi panjang banget gini yak, hehehe… Yasud, udahan dulu ya.. *dadah-dadah*[]

English version

Soooo, who is here doesn’t like make up? Well, I was. But as the time goes by, I felt that having makeup on is same thing with treating yourself good. You are respect and love yourself through it. It doesn’t mean if you’re not put a makeup on your face, then you are not accepting yourself the way they are. Let’s put yourself in a situation when you have to go for a first job interview. Would you attend with literary no makeup at all or put some powders, eyebrows and lip gloss on your face?

I’ve once been on that situation. When I was having big zero makeup skills while there are some moments where I had to be look properly. You named it: attend to someone’s wedding party, small reunion, and (yeah) that first job interview. You’re supposed to make a good first impression, by the way. Because they can be build an opinion that you are a lazy person by seeing your messy hair, for example. Well, you won’t appear to the public with a face like you’re just wake up in the morning, no? Besides, you can certainly differentiate between well-groomed face and the one that doesn’t.

Instead of careless to your own body, let’s start to taking care of them. We can start from basic things like put lotion on your daily routine or a body scrubbing for relaxation. So, here’s the list come to you.

Facial wash: I was a big fan of Dove facial wash. But since it was really hard to find everywhere (I mean it: EVERYWHERE!), then I got to replace it with another brand. Dove was fit me. It’s pleasant to use, soft and leaves durable moist texture. So it makes my skin well-hydrate and feels spongy. Long story short, it’s good. Unfortunately, it’s not manufactured anymore. I will post soon when I got a new facial wash.

Facial moisturizer: uhm, actually I’m not so into this things. I don’t know why, but I keeping use them for the sake of the skin’s healthy (strange, I know). My current day and night moisturizer are both from Oriflame, but different variants. The day moisturizer is Optimals Even Out Day Cream, while the night I use Aqua Rhythm Night Cream. The day cream remembered me of Nivea face cream. It’s kind of the same from its texture to its scent. The affect actually is not surprising. While when I use the night cream its feels soooo soft. Honestly, I was quite shock when I first use it. Because I never found a cream that really soft like this before. One tiny drop is enough to each part of the face. In the morning, the effect makes my skin so moist and elastic.

Foundation: so far I still loyal to Clear Smooth from Maybeline. At first, I use Aqua Gel Foundation. Now, I use the new one, Mineral Foundation. But I love both! The Aqua Gel is not leave any mark colors (when you cleanse your face off). It’s because it made from water based formula. I often wear only this foundation when I want a no-makeup makeup. In the beginning, its colors look like build a layer, but as the time clicking, it’s unified with the skin tone and lefts you smooth skin.
I also use the Maybeline plus foundation (blue package). According to the Shop Assistant, this is the compact foundation (solid), not the two in one powder. Whatever it is, I also use this beside the liquid foundation. Maybe it’s sound so weird, wearing liquid foundation then the solid one and lastly the compact powder. For me is not over makeup, because I applied them slightly. Not over, but also not so plain. The makeup is quite durable. One thing for sure, I like the collaboration between foundation and face powder Maybeline.

Face powder: currently I use Maybeline compact powder. Just like what I’ve mention before, I usually combine it with Maybeline compact foundation. Besides Maybeline, I also wear compact powder from Inez. Overall, Inez is good but only it’s more heavy feeling than Maybeline. Maybe one day I’m gonna try The Body Shop.

Mascara: Maybeline waterproof. It’s really waterproof (not faded at all). It’s sometimes clotting but not so heavy. When you have wudhu, it’s not faded at all. It’s quite strong so if you clean your face, you have to choose the heavy makeup cleanser.

Eyeshadow: I have Oriflame, but rarely to use. For me personally, it’s not significant to wear eyeshadow. This is maybe because I wear glasses. I felt my eyes becomes too much. So even go to the special occasions, I seldom wearing eyeshadow.

Eyeliner: I have a liquid one from Revlon. FYI, I never use it from the first time I bought it. The reason is: I can’t use it. Shame on me. And it turn out I have another eyeliner in pencil by La Tulip. It’s good actually. But, still, I can’t use it properly as an eye makeup, either pencil or liquid (for God’s sake). Even when I bought another two eyeliners (Kajal and Wonder Liner by Oriflame), it’s not helped me to use it.

Eyebrow: I have one from (guess what) Viva! Favorite of so many women—even Jakarta socialites! It has good form and colors. After I’ve bought the black color, suddenly I want the brown one. Besides, I also want to have liquid eyeliner and try to apply it with brush. Still clueless about the brand though.

Blush on: I have two: bronzing pearls by Oriflame and the other one from Inez. I use Oriflame for daily wear and Inez for special occasions. I have no idea whether it’s opposite or not, but that’s how I wear them. Bronzing pearls has soft colors, while Inez has more strong with glittery effect. (The only thing I regret about bronzing pearls is why they are so pricey. You can find many famous brands with that price range, by the way.)

Lips: well, just like you girls (yes, I’m talking to YOU!), I have some lipsticks. Some are from Revlon and some are by Oriflame. But I prefer Revlon somehow. It colors is so me! I rarely wear the other ones from Oriflame. For lipgloss I have Lip Ice. I have to combine it with Revlon to prevent dry lips. I usually put the lipgloss brush on the tip of lipstick, then swatch to the lips with the brush. I liked this way because they can blended perfectly.

Lotion: I used to change from one brand to another. To mention some of them: Nivea, Citra to Vaseline. Currently I’m consistently using Vaseline even I always pick different variants. I have bought variant of Aloe Vera and I don’t like the scent. Or SPF variant (not so special) and Total Moisture (the scent is fine, I love it!). It seems like I will keep using the last one.

Scrubs: uh, I lovoooveeee scrubbing!! This bath routine has been doing since I was college. I always body scrubbing every weekend. After having kid(s) I’d still scrubbing. I was faaling in love with Lux Body Scrub Lavender with Ginger Oil. They taste good! The scent of lavender sticks on my shirt until the day after. The scrubs quite craggy (compare with Sari Ayu and Vitalis) and the ginger oil makes the ritual fells like you’re on a spa. You feel warmth and energizing at the same time. Unfortunately, (again), this lovely product is nowhere. Right now I’m using Wild Cherry scrub from The Body Shop. The scrub beads are from kiwi and (of course) wild cheery seeds. It scrub oil is good but too much so it feels slickly.

But overall, it’s nice to have a clean body with fresh scent of cherry *sniff sniff*. Maybe I’m gonna try Swedish Spa Body Srcub from Oriflame. I’ve tried Swedish Spa Facial Scrub and it is soft. It makes your skin clean without dryness. So it’s possible that the body scrub is also good. The scrub product that I haven’t try yet is lip scrub. Actually I can make it by myself from sugar sprinkle and honey. Or another combination—up to you. While for foot treatment I’d rather foot scrub from Oriflame. And another foot treatment series like foot bath, foot cream, foot mask to the pumice brush. I think Oriflame has several good scrubs and toiletries products.

Shampoo and friends: I’ve been trying so many brands. You named it: Clear, Head &Shoulders, Pantene and then Sunsilk. After tried so many brands, I’ve been use Sunsilk for quite long time since in the college. When I used Sunsilk, I also tried Dove hair serum. Dove serum is not very oily (like Sunsilk does) and also has light formula. When I ran out of shampoo, I tried to switch to Dove. On the first try, I felt my hair so light. My hair texture is stiff, so I always have my hair do upside with a big hairpin. Since I switch to Dove, I never change to another brand anymore.

By the way, I’m sorry if this post became too long to read. Hahaha. Okay, see you again on the next post.[]
